The 8th edition of the "Christmas in Maramureş" event, organized under the auspices of the Maramureş County Council, announced itself to be a new one, as the event spread throughout the county, various actions being set between December 15 and 28, 2016. Still from December 15, cultural activities specific to Christmas are organized at the level of the administrative territorial units of Maramureş, under the generic name "Christmas in Maramureş". The official opening of the events took place on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at the Village Museum in Baia Mare, where several thousand carolers announced the Nativity of the Lord to the seven host municipalities and were rewarded with nuts, apples, cookies and many other goodies.
