The European Commission approved the Partnership Agreement with Romania, the strategic document that regulates the objectives and allocation of European funds for our country in the period 2021-2027.

During the new programming period, 16 Operational Programs will be implemented in Romania through the 2021-2027 Cohesion Policy, and their total value will be approximately 45 billion euros.

The North-West Regional Development Agency will act as the Management Authority for the North-West Regional Operational Program 2021-2027 whose total budget, EU allocation and co-financing from the national budget, will be 1.43 billion euros. The program was approved by the Government of Romania and was later sent to the European Commission for verification and approval.

"Today we are facing a historic moment. With the approval of the Partnership Agreement, we enter the straight line for a unique opportunity: investing the 45 billion euros allocated through the Cohesion Policy to radically change Romania. The experience of previous programming periods helps us to write a success story for the period 2021-2027, which includes the most efficient and debureaucratic access to European money, a proactive vision of the objectives we are pursuing and very clear deadlines for project implementation. The next step is the approval of all 16 Operational Programs, which we have already sent to the European Commission. In the end, we must talk about a Romania with highways, railway infrastructure, water, sewerage, with a human resource trained at the highest level, safe hospitals and a competitive business environment", Minister Marcel Boloș said.
