New action plans to improve urban mobility in the North-West Region

During the week of September 10-14, the experts from the TRAM project - Action Plans for sustainable urban mobility - met in Seville in order to finalize the methodological aspects regarding the development of Action Plans for the improvement of policies supporting urban mobility in the partner regions. During the meeting, the evaluation of the Action Plan for the Region of Andalucia, a partner in the TRAM project, took place, with experts offering recommendations for improving and increasing the impact of the proposed actions.

The TRAM Action Plans envisage the transfer of good practices identified within the project, the aim being mutual learning and the capitalization of the experience accumulated by the partner regions in the field of urban mobility.

For the North-West Region - during the meetings of the members of the Regional Committee of TRAM Representatives - the main needs and difficulties in the steps to improve urban mobility, increase traffic safety and reduce carbon dioxide emissions were identified, and will be finalized in the next period and the actions proposed to be carried out.

The action plan is to be completed in close collaboration with the members of the Regional Committee of TRAM Representatives, by transposing the elements of success from the good practices identified into concrete actions - taking into account the local specificities of the municipalities involved - to be implemented between April 2019 and March 2021.

The TRAM project is financed from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) through the Territorial Cooperation Program INTERREG Europe 2014-2020 and aims to stimulate collaboration between partner regions and support the exchange of best practices in the field of urban mobility, thus facilitating the transition to modes of transport urban more efficient, cleaner and more sustainable, at the same time contributing to the improvement of the implementation of Axis 4 within the Regional Operational Program 2014-2020.
