The Declaration regarding the development policy

The forum of the representatives of the communities in the North-West Region (Northern Transylvania) adopted on September 10, 2005 the Declaration regarding the development policy.
The document states:
“The challenges foreseen for the communities of the Northern Transylvania Region at the moment of Romania's accesion to the EU and the post-accesion period determine us to:
· profoundly recognize our own “identity”, our weaknesses, our strengths in the context of the threats but also of the opportunities that await us;
· transmit our development options to the decision-makers (that establish the our priorities, from a national level) in a firm and substantiated way;
· act interdependently for reaching those objectives that can guarantee the sustainable development of the region.”

The Declaration was signed by an impressive number of persons involved in the administrative, political and economic life of Northern Transylvania, during the promotion actions carried out by the North-West RDA.
