Transnational Cooperation

The transnational areas are wider regions that have a deepening potential of integration and of economic and social cohesion. The transnational cooperation programmes aim at strengthening the cooperation between member states in the fields of strategic importance. Consequently, the activities that will beneficiate from assistance will be the ones that aim at the improvement of the connections between various territories, both physical connections, such as transport investments, and networks of exchanges between regions and actors.
Within this component, all regions are eligible, but with the help of the member states 13 cooperation areas were identified. Romania, respectively the North-West Region is eligible on this component within the South-East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme 2007-2013.
