National Monitoring Committee

The institutional framework established by Government Decision no. 361/2007, regarding the creation of the Managing Authority for the Regional Operational Programme within the Ministry of Development, Public Works and Housing, settles the founding and organization of a Monitoring Committee for the Regional Operational Programme at a national level, an organism meant to observe the way in which the programme is implemented. The creation of this organism is required by the European Union, that specifies the mission of this Committee in European Union Council Regulation no. 1083/2006 regarding the general rules of application of the European Fund for Regional Development, the Social European Fund and of the Cohesion Fund.
The ROP Monitoring Committee (MCROP) is composed by the representatives of the ministries within which the Managing Authorities for the Operational Programmes were created, representatives of the Regional Development Boards (RDB), and also of the socio-economic partners in the business environment, the accademic environment, syndicates or the regional civil society, named by the RDB.
Within the MCROP, on behalf of the North-West Region, the two titular members are the North-West RDB president, Mr. Tiberiu Marc (president of Salaj County Council) and, on behalf of the business environment, of the academic environment, of syndicates, of the civil society, the Rector of the Technical University Cluj-Napoca, Mr. Radu Munteanu. The alternate members are the North-West RDB vice-president, Mr. Alexandru Kiss (president of Bihor County Council) and the President of the ARIES Association, Mr. Marcel Borodi.
